"Starting from around age 14, I’ve composed about 180 tunes in different musical categories - jazz, latin jazz, fusion/funk, pop, spiritual, and miscellany. In 2020, I recorded a majority of my compositions - mostly just the melodies - to have as a ‘memory' for myself. I now share many of them with you here on this page. They comprise a mixture of past recordings I’ve done plus demo recordings." —Fred

Sax Solos By Fred
This first solo sax recording of “My Romance” was done years ago in a large barn-like studio with a high ceiling that had wonderful, natural acoustics.
The sound was so good that I decided not to use head phones, which was quite unusual!
"My Romance"
The next recordings were done around 2019-2021 on my laptop computer at home using Garage Band. I simply wanted to keep a log of the various things I play from one day/month/year to the next - certain days being more creative than
other days. I had no particular tune or licks in mind to play... whatever I felt in the moment I played. And I didn't necessarily try to play 'in time’.
I just picked up my horn, played ‘freely’, and had fun!
